It is Franciacorta that garnered the best results at the Concours Mondial De Bruxelles in the section reserved for effervescent wines. About a thousand wines at the competition, with 50 international jurors engaged in an evaluation session in Agerola, Campania.
With two-thirds of the wines awarded, Lombardy is the most awarded Italian producer. Fratus’ Cu-vée Satén Millesimato, an organic, 100 percent Chardonnay wine, takes home the Revela-tion Trophy for 2023.
Campania, the region that hosted the session, also managed to dis-tinguish itself with the Falanghina and Penisola Sorrentina appellations, obtaining 4 Gold and 5 Silver medals.
