Tuscany gears up for a vibrant September and October, filled with cycling events that blend international races, experiential rides, and celebrations of the region’s landscapes, flavors, and traditions. With over 17 events across as many destinations, the region offers a unique opportunity to experience cycling in all its forms, from competitive races to leisurely explorations, extending the summer with moments of sport and connection.
On September 10 and 11, Peccioli hosts the Giro della Toscana and the Coppa Sabatini, key events in the Alfredo Martini Memorial and the Coppa Italia delle Regioni. Featuring 25 teams, including eight World Tour squads, the 73rd Coppa Sabatini honors local rider Giuseppe Sabatini with a UCI ProSeries race that draws thousands of fans. Key moments will be broadcast live on Rai Sport and international networks.
The Maremma shines with InGravel Morellino, a gravel event that goes beyond sport. From September 13 to 14, 250-300 participants will tackle three routes (41, 85, and 100 km) or a Social Ride, weaving through vineyards, medieval villages, and exclusive sites like the Etruscan terrace of Ghiaccioforte and Prince Corsini’s private estate. Music, tastings, and local culture enhance this authentic experience.
From September 26 to 28, the Mare Vetta Mare Trail challenges cyclists with a 200 km, 3,000-meter-elevation journey from the coast to Monte Amiata and back. Crossing beaches, vineyards, and chestnut forests, this event, born in the ’90s, rewards finishers with a symbolic “brick” and a place in the official register, offering a timeless adventure without a stopwatch.
On September 28, the Cicloturistica Gallo Nero blends cycling with the Chianti harvest. Two routes – Cosimo III (60 km) and Gallo Nero (133 km, with two timed climbs) – combine sport with enogastronomic experiences, including exclusive tastings in Chianti Classico wineries.
From October 2 to 5, the 28th L’Eroica returns, a symbol of authentic cycling on Tuscany’s white roads. With routes from 46 to 209 km, this non-competitive event celebrates steel bikes, wool jerseys, and rustic rest stops. Gaiole will host vintage markets and green initiatives, offering participants not just a medal, but a deep connection to Tuscany’s soul.
An autumn of cycling and emotions solidifies Tuscany’s place as Italy’s cycling capital, weaving together competition, nature, and community in a truly unique embrace.
