From Milan to Brescia, Simona Solbiati opens “Il salotto”

A few steps away from the historical centre of Brescia, in Corsia del Gambero, on Thursday 30 January 2025 Simona Solbiati inaugurated her latest project: ‘Il Salotto Solbiati Cioccolato’. This new venue, a mix of bar, pastry shop and bistro, promises to become a reference point for lovers of good taste and elegance, a place where hospitality, quality and refinement meet in perfect harmony. Il Salotto Solbiati is a multifaceted space where elegance and an intimate, relaxing atmosphere blend harmoniously. With an area of 200 square metres on one level, the restaurant is characterised by four large windows overlooking the courtyard of the historic Corsia del Gambero, providing natural light and an evocative atmosphere. The furnishing, with great attention to detail, reflects Simona Solbiati’s unique style: elegant lines, skilful lighting, warm colours and precious materials such as the quartz of the counter and the fabrics of the seats create a refined and cosy ambience. At the entrance, a long counter welcomes guests with a selection of pastries, from monoportions to cakes, an area dedicated to leavened goods and an area reserved for the preparation of cocktails. The open space inside houses a spacious tearoom, ideal for a relaxing breakfast, lunch or aperitif.

Il Salotto is not just a place to enjoy sweets and refined dishes, but an experience that involves all the senses. Breakfast and tea are moments of indulgence and relaxation, with croissants, cakes, a selection of high-quality teas and coffees. Among the specialities, the hot chocolate stands out, made with dark Belgian chocolate, thick and creamy, to be enjoyed with fragrant shortbread. Among the desserts, the undisputed star is the ‘Tesoro’, a cake that encapsulates the essence of Simona Solbiati. With its soft texture and rich, creamy flavour, the Tesoro is a heart, the chocolate designer’s unmistakable symbol and good-luck charm, available in mignon, single-serving and six-layer formats. The Solbiati salon is not limited to confectionery.

Thanks to the collaboration with chef Giacomo Sparla, an expert in the kitchen of the three-star Mirazur restaurant in Menton, the bistro also offers a selection of savoury dishes with a refined taste. Each dish is designed to offer a perfect combination of flavour and freshness, with a focus on using the highest quality raw materials.

My aim has always been to convey the emotion I feel when creating desserts. I don’t want to offer my customers just a product, but an experience that makes them feel pampered,’ said Simona Solbiati at the opening. That is why I imagined a living room, a warm and cosy environment, where each creation is selected and prepared with love and care. Il Salotto Solbiati Cioccolato” is a place where tradition and innovation meet, a corner of Brescia where time seems to have stopped to offer moments of sweetness and pleasure. A project that is sure to win the heart of the city.
