Starting July 16, it will be possible to go by train from Rome to Pompeii without any intermediate stops. The connection, made by the Ministry of Culture with Ferrovie dello Stato, will take visitors directly to the station but also to the excavations of Pompeii. Inside the convoys, passengers will be able to watch a video introducing the history of Pompeii and its great excavations, which began during the time of the Bourbon reign, and will have the opportunity to purchase entrance tickets to the excavations. The connection was made possible by work on the new Pompeii station, which provided a link between the Circumvesuviana tracks in Naples and Rete Ferroviaria Italiana high-speed trains to connect Rome.
