La Casearia Carpenedo Conquers the World: Five Medals at the World Cheese Awards 2025

La Casearia Carpenedo has once again hoisted Italy to the very pinnacle of global cheesemaking with a quite splendid triumph at the World Cheese Awards 2025 – the most prestigious international competition of its kind, held this year in Bern, Switzerland: of the eight cheeses entered, no fewer than five returned home draped in medals, a feat that salutes not merely the flair of the Carpenedo family but the outright supremacy of Italian cheesemaking artistry. Silver medals were awarded to Blustar – an entirely new cheese that made a dazzling international debut (full details to be unveiled shortly, though its medal already proclaims pure excellence), to Perlagrigia, a triumphant stroke of creativity born from the inspired pairing with truffle, hand-massaged with spices and veiled in ash to seal in every glorious aroma, and to Briscola, a forthright, honest cheese rooted in the rustic tradition of card games played in old village osterie, its crust stained wine-red from a thorough soaking in Raboso grape pomace and perfectly balanced with peppery spice and fruity notes in which cherry shines through; bronze medals, meanwhile, went to Hyrkus, one of the latest additions to the range, a lusciously creamy goat’s-milk cheese from the artisanal selection, remarkable for its delectable softness and refined aromatic elegance, and to Blu ’61, a cow’s-milk blue refined in Raboso Passito and crowned with precious cranberries, its paste creamy and veined generously with blue, distinguished by an elegant harmony of bold, decisive flavour tempered by the wine’s sweet undertones that marry exquisitely with milky notes and the blueing itself – never overpowering.

“Beyond the sheer excitement, we feel profound gratitude and are truly honoured by these fresh accolades,” the team at La Casearia Carpenedo remark. “Ours is a daily commitment to crafting cheeses of the highest excellence, now recognised and celebrated on the world stage. To rank among the finest cheeses on earth is an honour that spurs us onward with ever greater conviction.

” These latest prizes join an already formidable roll of honour that, across eight editions of the competition, now boasts 3 Super Golds, 4 Golds, 9 Silvers and 18 Bronzes – crowning La Casearia Carpenedo as a true ambassador of Italian taste, innovation in cheesemaking, and the fragrant marriage of history and terroir. Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, the World Cheese Awards remain the largest and most respected contest devoted solely to cheese, drawing more than 5,000 entries from over 50 countries and judged blind by an international panel of 250 experts – chefs, journalists, buyers and creators alike – a stage upon which the Venetian firm from Camalò di Povegliano (Treviso) continues to shine brilliantly.
