From November 29, 2024, to January 6, 2025, South Tyrol’s five Original Markets are ready to give visitors the magical atmosphere that has always distinguished South Tyrol’s Christmas festivities.
Once again this year, in fact, the Original Markets-organized in Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone, Sterzing and Brunico-are certified “Green Event” for their focus on sustainability, regionality and authenticity. A commitment that also concerns transportation: in fact, “The South Tyrol Christmas Train” returns to conveniently reach South Tyrol by train and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
But there is no shortage of great news. For the first time, in fact, from Nov. 21, 2024 to Jan. 6, 2025, Lumagica arrives in Merano in the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle to ignite the dreams of young and old alike. Starting at 4:30 p.m., numerous handcrafted installations will give visitors the chance to admire the beautiful gardens from a whole new light. Bolzano is also gearing up for a series of new features for its Christmas. The Christmas Park will be housed in a new location this year, on Via Isarco.
Finally, for music enthusiasts, Bolzano-elected a “UNESCO Creative City of Music”-has more than 130 concerts scheduled in various locations, from Walther Square to Piazza delle Erbe from the steps of the Mercantile Palace to the Town Hall Square.
