Rome Hosts a Fusion of Jewelry, Art, and Wine: Akillis Unveils Capture Collection with Roberto Capanna

Palazzo Taverna Orsini, home to Feudi di San Gregorio’s Roman venue, became the stage yesterday, February 18, for a dialogue between avant-garde creativity and tradition. During an exclusive cocktail event, Parisian jewelry brand Akillis presented its Capture collection, which inspired sculptor Roberto Capanna’s metascultures under the artistic direction of Alice d’Amelia. The evening blended contemporary art, experimental design, and Italian wine excellence, celebrating a future rooted in cultural heritage. Founded in 2013, Akillis showcased its bold philosophy in Rome, transforming jewelry into wearable art. The Capture collection explores the concept of “seizing the ephemeral,” with fluid lines freezing suspended moments. Capanna’s sculptures, crafted in response to the collection, are functional pieces meant to be hung, placed, or admired independently, reflecting hours of meticulous craftsmanship.

Maryline De Cesare, Akillis’ Brand Ambassador in Italy, emphasized: “Italy is a cornerstone of Akillis’ global vision. Choosing Rome again to celebrate Capture is no coincidence: it is here that the maison’s audacity meets millennia of art and innovation. Akillis, increasingly beloved for the courage with which it redefines classical jewelry codes, is finding in Italy the ideal ground to engage with an audience seeking authenticity and borderless identity. Our collections, a tribute to universal and unisex beauty, are a bridge between Italian cultural heritage and the future of design.” Capanna’s works, inspired by Akillis’ jewelry, created a visual narrative on cultural hybridization.

Roberto Capanna stated: “With Capture and my creations, we aim to evoke a future where art knows no boundaries.” The event was complemented by wines from Feudi di San Gregorio, a symbol of Italian excellence, and the Palazzo’s 17th-century frescoes, which contrasted strikingly with the avant-garde designs on display. Ella Capaldo, Creative Director of Feudi di San Gregorio, remarked: “We are proud to host such a visionary dialogue. Like winemaking, art requires courage and respect for tradition.” The event saw the participation of prominent figures from culture and entertainment, including Mariella Milani (writer and commentator on fashion, society, and culture), Giulia Latini (sommelier influencer and Wine Master), Fabius De Vivo (actor and director), Aldo Sacchetti (artist and fashion illustrator), Sonia Rondini (PR of Communication and urban anthropologist), Elena Buscemi Scotto Di Vettimoo (event organizer), and Vivy In Rosa (influencer and designer). A convergence of talents that turned the evening into a crossroads of creativity, where past and future merged into a universal language.
