In the sumptuous setting of the Royal Albert Hall, in front of an audience of illustrious names and celebrities from the world of music, the fashion Oscars were awarded.
The title of Designer of the Year of the British Fashion Awards 2022 was awarded to Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative director of the Valentino Maison, for having transported a historic maison into current times by preserving and enhancing the power of its heritage through various initiatives and with an inclusive, creative, new but coherent language through which Piccioli has been able to speak to new generations.
Nominations and winners were voted by a panel of over a thousand industry experts. The London event also aimed to raise funds for the Bfc Foundation charity that awards scholarships, grants and mentoring to future talents for the fashion industry.
