Liquorificio 1864 joins the Union of Italian Centenary Companies: an acknowledgement of Made in Italy excellence

A new prestigious milestone for Liquorificio 1864, the historic Calabrian brand that has embodied the art of Italian liqueur-making for over 160 years: the company has been admitted to the Union of Italian Centenary Companies (UICItalia), an association that brings together the longest-lived and most representative companies of Made in Italy. This recognition celebrates not only the company’s centuries-old history, but also its ability to innovate while remaining faithful to its craftsmanship roots. Founded by Raffaello Bosco in 1864, Liquorificio 1864 has been able to combine tradition and innovation, creating unique liqueurs based on medicinal herbs gathered at the foot of the Sila Mountains in Calabria and exotic ingredients such as aloe ferox. A craftsmanship that has been preserved and renewed over time, especially since 2005, when the company was acquired by the Regina Group. Under the leadership of Elvira, Antonella and Gianni Regina, together with Orlando Marcelletti, Liquorificio 1864 has been able to reinterpret tradition, integrating modern technologies without ever losing the artisan soul that characterises it. Today, the company is a symbol of excellence and authenticity, with a range of products ranging from classic bitters, such as Amaro Silano (winner of the gold medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles), to new high-end proposals such as Capobranco, a premium liqueur that represents evolution in tradition.

Joining the Unione Imprese Centenarie Italiane is a further seal of prestige for Liquorificio 1864, which thus joins an elite group of historic companies representing the best of Italian entrepreneurial tradition. The UICItalia, in fact, is dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of business culture, enhancing those realities that, like Liquorificio 1864, have been able to stand the test of time while keeping their identity intact. ‘We have a duty to honour our history and responsibility towards consumers who, for over 160 years, have found tradition and quality in our liqueurs,’ says Gennaro Regina, Chairman of the Board of Liquorificio 1864. ‘We innovate only where technology improves the production process, without ever altering our essence.’ Among the company’s most significant innovations is Capobranco, a premium liqueur that perfectly embodies Liquorificio 1864’s philosophy: combining history and innovation.

‘This recognition fills us with pride and motivates us to pursue Calabrian excellence in the world,’ says Domenico Maradei, General Manager of Liquorificio 1864. ‘Capobranco is the perfect evolution in tradition, ready to amaze new consumers’. Orlando Marcelletti, Sales Manager, also emphasises the importance of the link with the territory: ‘Communicating Calabria through our products is our mission. This recognition spurs us to continue innovating, remaining faithful to tradition and enhancing local excellence’. With 160 years of history, Liquorificio 1864 is not just a company, but a true cultural heritage. Its range of products, the result of a skilful blend of tradition and innovation, tells the story and culture of Calabria, taking it all over the world. Joining the Unione Imprese Centenarie Italiane is not just a goal, but a starting point to continue growing, always keeping alive the mission that has guided the company since 1864: to create liqueurs that are an expression of authenticity, quality and passion. ‘Italy is a reference point for world food and wine culture, and Liquorificio 1864 wants to be an ambassador of this excellence,’ concludes Gennaro Regina. ‘Made in Italy, when it is true, knows no boundaries.’
