150 years of Italian immigration to Brazil

On June 28, on the occasion of Kolchagov Barba’s charity show aimed at raising funds for the children of Brazil’s favelas, we met H.E. the Brazilian Ambassador to Italy, Renato Mosca de Souza, who told us about the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Italian immigration to Brazil where, to commemorate the arrival in Vitoria (in the state of Espirito Santo) of the ship La Sofia on February 21, 1874, every year on that same date is celebrated the ‘Italian Immigrant Day’. The second Italian Queen at the French court: Maria de’ Medici

Mary is the second Italian to become Queen of France. As fate would have it, she bears the same surname as the first Medici, Catherine, who was never much loved by the French. Mary, therefore, must construct a role as queen without being able to relate to past models, first and foremost that of her distant relative.
