Florence has solidified its status as the capital of niche perfumery with the latest edition of Pitti Fragranze, a resounding success at Stazione Leopolda. Nearly 2,200 buyers, a 32% surge compared to 2024, flocked to the event, hailing from over 50 countries, showcasing the show’s growing global appeal.
Featuring 258 brands, 75% of which were international and 110 being new entries or notable comebacks, Pitti Fragranze has cemented its place as the go-to event for unveiling the latest trends in artistic perfumery and beauty. “We felt a special, electric vibe,” said Raffaello Napoleone, CEO of Pitti Immagine. Exhibitors, buyers, press, and industry pros brought an infectious enthusiasm to Leopolda, diving into brand scouting, discovering new releases, and catching the hottest trends in the field. The numbers tell the story: around 550 international buyers, with strong growth across all markets, and 1,650 Italian buyers. Spain led the pack of foreign markets, followed by Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, the US, Ukraine, the UAE, Austria, South Korea, Japan, Turkey, and Russia.

“Niche perfumery is having a golden moment,” noted Antonio Cristaudo, Pitti Immagine’s commercial and development director. This edition’s success stems from our strategic focus on quality proposals and a meticulously curated experience. Among the standout features was the Soul & Skin area dedicated to skincare, which was a major hit, alongside a packed lineup of talks and events that drew 420 media professionals. Highlights included the debut of Japanese designer SETCHU’s first fragrance collection, showcased with a special installation and talk, and the world premiere of Memorie Olfattive, a poetic docufilm tracing the journey of renowned Sicilian perfumer Meo Fusciuni. Other notable moments were MANE’s Fashion & Fragrances Wearing the Future focus, the Fragrance Observatory’s market trend analysis, and talks on topics like the rise of indie skincare brands and the future of fragrance professions, led by experts like Paola Gariboldi, Susanna Macchia, and Istituto Marangoni.

Pitti Fragranze strengthened its role as a global platform through initiatives like the incoming program for buyers and top fashion retailers, supported by ICE and MAECI, and a growing focus on the Far East, particularly South Korea, which is pushing the boundaries of olfactory innovation. Events like the special opening of Lorenzo Villoresi’s Perfume Museum and the citywide olfactory experiences offered by brands made this edition unforgettable. With a vibrant calendar of presentations and celebrations, Pitti Fragranze is more than an event—it’s an experience that celebrates creativity, innovation, and the beauty of niche perfumery, making Florence the beating heart of global olfactory culture.
