Ruffino’s Golden Alchemy

Ruffino, the historic Tuscan winery founded at Pontassieve in the distant year of 1877, returns to the Milan Design Week 2026 with the third edition of ORObyRUFFINO, housed within Manzoni HUB – a new Milanese space entirely dedicated to Made in Italy interior design – where the estate inserts itself both into the exhibition itinerary and as the wine partner for events hosted throughout the week. ORObyRUFFINO is a project that unites art, design, and conviviality, inspired by the iconic Ruffino Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva Ducale Oro and the timeless elegance of Italian design: an immersive experience that celebrates Italian craftsmanship, where creativity intertwines inextricably with the culture of wine. First presented during the 2024 edition of Milan Design Week at the Dazi di Milano in Piazza Sempione, the project evolved in 2025 by finding hospitality within the prestigious walls of Triennale Milano, and to date ten artists have taken part in the programme.

In this year’s exhibition at Manzoni HUB, several artists already protagonists of previous editions enter into dialogue: Augustina Bottoni, an Argentine designer based in Milan; Martinelli Venezia studio, founded by Carolina Martinelli and Vittorio Venezia; Gala Rotelli, an Italian designer with a background spanning architecture, art, and design; and Officine Saffi, a leading platform dedicated to creative research in ceramic production. The great novelty of the ORObyRUFFINO 2026 collection is the Riserva Ducale Oro – Gold Trilogy, presented for Ruffino by the Martinelli Venezia studio: this limited edition sees the iconic bottle embellished with universal symbols of gratitude, protection, and good fortune – contemporary motifs in hand-finished brass that transform it into an authentic collector’s object.

Together with the wine, these elements render Riserva Ducale Oro a profound gift, steeped in history and meaning, and it will be available exclusively online and at the Enoteca of Casa Ruffino in Florence from December 2026. After Milan Design Week concludes, the complete ORObyRUFFINO collection remains on permanent display at Casa Ruffino – Tenuta Poggio Casciano – thus confirming itself as a refined meeting point between art, wine, and territory at the gates of Florence, where the Tuscan countryside meets contemporary elegance. With ORObyRUFFINO, Ruffino renews its commitment to the dialogue between wine culture and contemporary design thinking, within an exhibition context that celebrates the Italian design system during Milan Design Week, proving that a bottle, when held in the right hands, can become far more than a wine: it can become a work of art.
