Repower and Maremma: Wine, Bikes, and a Green Future on the Move

Wine tourism and sustainable mobility converge in Maremma through two strategic partnerships forged by Repower, a Swiss group leading in energy and electric mobility, with the Consorzio Morellino di Scansano and Confcommercio Grosseto, to champion cycle tourism, integrated mobility, and energy efficiency, while celebrating the region’s gastronomic and natural treasures.

With the Consorzio Morellino di Scansano, established in 1992 and now boasting over 200 members, Repower, as Electric Mobility Partner, enhances the Morellino Green project, expanding the charging network to include e-bikes and offering energy efficiency services, from selecting energy supplies to monitoring consumption and optimising systems. The collaboration with Confcommercio Grosseto aims to highlight Maremma’s stunning landscapes, blending cutting-edge services for cycle tourists with environmentally conscious economic development, providing member businesses with solutions like electric vehicle charging stations, increasingly sought after by visitors. Repower grants members of both organisations preferential access to its Repower Charging Net and DINAclub networks: the former, a nationwide electric vehicle charging network tailored for SMEs, featuring smart tools like GIOTTO and SYMBIOSIS, customisable and visible on leading charging point apps; the latter, Italy’s first network for e-bike charging, designed to meet the growing demand for cycle tourism solutions.

Davide Damiani, Repower’s PR and Sales Promotion Manager, notes that these partnerships elevate the group’s standing in the wine and commercial sectors, turning sustainable mobility into a business driver through a decade-long ecosystem, bolstered by expertise in tourism promotion and a data-driven approach to destationalise visitor flows and enhance regional appeal. Alessio Durazzi, Director of Consorzio Morellino di Scansano, emphasises Repower’s role in scaling up projects like Morellino Green, aspiring to create a widespread charging network for cars and bikes across Maremma, beyond the 10 companies involved since 2018. Gabriella Orlando, Director of Confcommercio Grosseto, highlights the commitment to sustainable tourism, with Repower as the ideal partner to turn this vision into reality, offering businesses growth opportunities through cycle tourism and a greener future.

Active for over a century from its base in Poschiavo, Repower is a Swiss leader in renewable energy generation, operating across the Swiss and Italian energy markets, where it has served businesses since 2002, achieving a 2024 turnover of €1.45 billion in Italy out of a group total of €2.609 billion, with offerings spanning electricity and gas supplies, energy efficiency, and electric mobility.
