From September 11 to 21, Eataly brings back its Pizza Fest in Italy and, for the first time, extends the celebration to its European stores in Paris, London, Stockholm, and Munich. Eleven days of gourmet pizzas, live cooking shows, exclusive dinners, and encounters with master pizzaioli will honor the tradition and innovation of one of Italy’s most beloved dishes.
Eataly’s pizzerias will showcase a range of creations, from the classic high-hydration dough made with semi-wholemeal and type 0 flour to the crispy scrocchiarella crafted with Senatore Cappelli durum wheat flour. A standout novelty is the pizza dolce, a 50-gram dough rolled out, folded, and baked in a wood-fired oven with a touch of sugar for a caramelized crust, topped with indulgent fillings like mascarpone and chocolate or ricotta and pistachio. Exclusive to the Pizza Fest, the Rustico dough, enriched with wheat germ for a nutritious and authentic flavor, is made with Altograno flour blends.
Six gourmet pizzas, created by Eataly’s Master Pizzaioli, will star in the festival: from Fichi e crudo 2.0 with Parma ham DOP and salted hazelnut cream to Marinara di bosco with porcini and caper chips, and Cacio, pepe e pere with vermouth-caramelized pears. These will feature in the Degustapizza event on September 21 across Eataly locations (Milan, Turin, Rome, Florence, Trieste, Genoa, Pinerolo), offering a tasting of all six pizzas, plus supplì, pizza dolce, and drinks (€29.90, booking recommended).
The Pizza Fest will also welcome renowned pizzaioli and pastry chefs. On September 14 in Milan, Diego Vitagliano (ranked second in 50 Top Pizza World 2024) will present contemporary Neapolitan pizzas, while pastry maestro Luigi Biasetto, creator of the Sette Veli cake, will offer a toasted panettone dessert and three pizza dolce variants (€55, including wine pairings). In Rome, from September 16 to 19, pizzerias like Antitesi, La Bolla, Svario, and Lщ Pizzeria will showcase innovative creations. Turin Lingotto hosts a Pizza Night on September 19, featuring pizzaioli like Enrico Murdocco and Massimiliano Prete, paired with wines, craft beers, cocktails, and live music (free entry, purchases via tokens). On September 11, Pizza&Bollicine in Florence, Piacenza, Pinerolo, Genoa, and Trieste will offer a menu with three pizzas and sparkling wines (€39).
Eataly’s School will host hands-on workshops to teach the secrets of perfect dough and baking. With the Pizza Fest, Eataly celebrates pizza as a blend of creativity, tradition, and quality, inviting everyone to savor the authentic taste of Made in Italy.
