Along Sardinia’s glittering Costa Smeralda, where crystalline waters meet unbridled luxury, the legendary Hotel Cala di Volpe prepares for a summer steeped in quintessential Italian style. Managed by Marriott International and owned by Smeralda Holding (under Qatar Investment Authority), this architectural jewel – originally conceived in the 1960s by Jacques Couëlle – has recently undergone a meticulous refurbishment, preserving that timeless Mediterranean allure which cemented its status as a global luxury lifestyle icon.
Dolce&Gabbana, the emblematic Italian maison since 1985, returns to imprint its unmistakable aesthetic upon this sculptural hotel overlooking the eponymous turquoise bay. Following previous successful collaborations, the DG Resort 2025 will once again transform Cala di Volpe into a stage for elegance and tradition, where every detail whispers the art of Italian dolce vita.

The partnership’s centrepiece will be the hotel’s saltwater pool area – among Europe’s largest – which this season will dazzle with the vibrant hues of the Sicilian Carretto motif. Plush cotton beach towels, hand-painted ceramic vessels and artfully decorated cabanas will create a dreamlike atmosphere, transporting guests on a sensory journey through Italian craftsmanship. An exclusive pop-up boutique will present a curated selection of Dolce&Gabbana’s resortwear and accessories.
The 2025 edition’s novelty sees the transformation of the iconic Atrium Bar – the hotel’s beating heart and one of Costa Smeralda’s most photographed terraces. Framed by sinuous arches and bathed in glamorous ambiance, this space will become an al fresco drawing room where Mediterranean charm meets international sophistication.
Conceived as a traditional fishing village and enveloped by Mediterranean scrubland’s heady perfume, Cala di Volpe perfectly embodies that balance of luxury and authenticity characteristic of both the hotel and Dolce&Gabbana’s ethos. Founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana – the brand’s perennial creative forces – have personally overseen every detail, imbuing the property with the same reverence for artisanal traditions that defines their collections.
For summer 2025, guests will experience this singular alchemy – suspended between Costa Smeralda’s timeless allure and one of fashion’s most iconic houses. A perfect union of Italian excellence, bound by shared passion for beauty and savoir-vivre.
