Acerbis Galaxy Body Armour, the chest protector made in Italy

Acerbis Galaxy Body Armour is the off-road chest protector that represents Italian design all over the world. The innovative protector for chest, shoulders, arms and back was in fact exhibited as a product of excellence of Italian design in the prestigious context of the Italian Design Day 2023, the exhibition set up in Taiwan that combines the presence of the best Italian products in every field with the dissemination of the principles of quality at the basis of the Compasso d’Oro system.

Established in 1954, the Compasso d’Oro Award is the oldest but above all the most authoritative design award in the world. It is awarded by the Industrial Design Association with the aim of rewarding and enhancing the quality of Italian design. The exhibition staged in Taiwan is organised by the Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office and ADI the Association for Industrial Design in collaboration with the Taiwan Design Research Institute.

In the design of Galaxy Body Armour, curated by MM Design by Alex Terzariol, the inspiration came from nature. When talking about protection, one of the first images that comes to mind is that of a nest. This explains the meaning of the thin filaments which, interwoven together, create a light and resistant structure. The threads create a mesh that protects an extremely delicate content, a symbol of the care that has gone into imagining and creating this protection. Galaxy Body Armour combines different materials, shapes and technologies to ensure maximum protection and unbeatable comfort.

The exhibition of Italian products awarded in part with the Compasso d’Oro and in part representing Italian design excellence is open to the public at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei until 5 April 2023.
